Buy a car in Germany, drive it in Belgium — inspected, insured, delivered

Germany sits right across the border, with far more cars than the Belgian market — more of them, better equipped, and often noticeably cheaper. What it doesn't have is a way to buy safely from Belgium. We add that: a physical 170+ point inspection before you pay, crime protection against fraud, and fully insured transport to your door, with the document package the DIV needs.

Why Germany beats the Belgian market

Germany is Europe's largest used-car market — over 1.5 million listings on mobile.de alone, many times the size of the Belgian offering. The difference shows most where Belgian buyers look hardest: well-specced premium cars and EVs. A German listing of the same model year typically carries more equipment, a documented service history, and a lower asking price than its Belgian counterpart, simply because supply is deeper and competition between sellers is fiercer.

Belgium also has geography on its side: the German border is a short drive away, so the transport leg is one of the shortest in Europe — a car picked up in the Rhineland or Ruhr can reach Flanders, Wallonia or Brussels in a matter of hours. What stands between you and the saving is Belgian registration paperwork and the risk of buying a car you've only seen in photos — both of which we handle.

What we do for you

1 · Know the car — from €349
A 170+ point inspection at the seller's location in Germany: paint-thickness mapping that exposes accident repairs, OBD diagnostics, underbody check, test drive and a full photo report — typically within 2 working days. Plus a history check from 900+ European sources (€49): accidents, odometer records, theft registers.
2 · Secure the deal
We verify the seller's identity and documents, negotiate the price (you keep 60% of the discount we win), secure the car so it isn't sold from under you, and structure the payment safely. Optional Purchase Cover™: 14-day return right and crime protection up to €200,000, from 1.5% of the price (min. €599). Brokerage fee €499 if you buy through us.
3 · Deliver it insured
Covered car carrier from Germany to Belgium with CMR insurance included. Optional full-value Transport Cover™ with no deductible — from 0.68% of the car's value (min. €299). You get the car at your door, not at a port.

Registering the car in Belgium

Rules and rates change, and the regional split makes Belgium more nuanced than most, so treat the above as orientation rather than tax advice: we confirm the current process for your specific purchase before you commit, and we deliver the car with the full document package — purchase contract, German registration certificate and CoC where available — so the DIV process and the contrôle technique start without surprises.

4
Delivery to Belgium
Insured transport to your address in Flanders, Wallonia or Brussels, with the document package the DIV and the contrôle technique / autokeuring need for registration.

Frequently asked questions

Do I pay Belgian VAT on the car?

For a used car bought in another EU country: no Belgian VAT — you mainly pay the registration process, the registration tax (BIV) and, once registered, the annual road tax. The exception is a new means of transport (under 6 months old or under 6,000 km), which triggers 21% Belgian VAT. We flag this before you commit to any specific car.

How much is the registration tax (BIV)?

The taxe de mise en circulation / belasting op inverkeerstelling is set regionally — Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels each calculate it differently, based on CO2, age, fuel and power. Because it varies so much, we help you estimate it for your specific car and region before you buy, so there's no surprise after delivery.

Does an imported car need an inspection before I can register it?

Yes. An imported used car normally has to pass a contrôle technique / autokeuring at an approved centre before the DIV will register it. We deliver the car with the complete German document package so it goes into that inspection cleanly.

How long does transport from Germany to Belgium take?

Usually just a few days from purchase — the German border is close, so this is one of the shortest routes we run. The car travels on a covered carrier with CMR insurance included; optional full-value Transport Cover™ is available from 0.68% of the car's value (min. €299).

What does the whole service cost?

Inspection €349, history check €49, brokerage fee €499 if you buy the car through us, plus transport by route and optional covers (Purchase Cover™ from 1.5% min. €599, Transport Cover™ from 0.68% min. €299). You only pay for the layers you want.
